What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use local storage and session storage for preferences, sign-in state, and your cookie choices. Pixels, tags, and SDKs may load when you use optional analytics or marketing features you have agreed to.

Cookie categories

Strictly necessary technologies run without optional consent because they are required for the site and app to work. You can manage optional categories through Cookie Settings in the site footer.

• Strictly necessary — authentication (AWS Cognito), security, consent records, load and security protection, and core app operation. Required for the site and app to work. Cannot be disabled through Cookie Settings.
• Functional — user preferences such as theme selection, UI preferences, and remembered settings (for example `ifcem-theme` in localStorage).
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (GA4), loaded only after you consent to analytics cookies.
• Marketing and attribution — campaign measurement or attribution providers, loaded only after you consent to marketing cookies. Not currently active unless enabled in future.
• Security (forms) — Google Cloud reCAPTCHA on protected forms such as `/contact` for fraud and abuse prevention when you submit those forms.

The table below lists representative cookies and storage keys we use today. Names may vary slightly by browser or Cognito app client.

Analytics and personal information

Google Analytics 4 does not load until you accept analytics cookies. Rejecting analytics cookies prevents GA4 from loading.

We configure analytics so that names, email addresses, phone numbers, message text, form contents, workspace content, and similar personal details are not sent to GA4.

GA4 event names, event parameters, page URLs, page titles, UTM values, referrers, and custom dimensions are kept free of personal information. Contact form submissions send only safe events such as `contact_form_submit_success`, not user-entered text.

Do not put personal information in UTM parameters or campaign URLs.

How to manage cookies

Use Cookie Settings in the footer to accept all, reject optional cookies, customise categories, or save preferences. You can reopen Cookie Settings at any time.

Your consent choices are stored for up to 12 months, then we will ask again.

Rejecting analytics cookies prevents GA4 from loading. Rejecting marketing cookies prevents marketing and attribution technologies from loading.

You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser settings.

Do Not Sell or Share

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own unrelated marketing purposes.

We use service providers to help operate IFCEM, including hosting, security, authentication, email delivery, analytics, and campaign measurement. These providers process limited information on our instructions or according to their service terms.

Analytics and marketing technologies only run after you consent through our cookie banner or Cookie Settings. You can change your preferences at any time through Cookie Settings in the site footer.
